American Classic Film Noir Month:
On the 15th of November the Film Society will be screening Double Indemnity (1944), a tale of crime, betrayal, and irresistible attraction. Directed by Billy Wilder and starring Fred MacMurray and Barbara Stanwyck, this film follows a calculating insurance agent as he is drawn into a dangerous plot by a rich woman, planning to kill her unsuspecting husband after he signs a double indemnity policy.
The screening begin shortly after 6:30pm on Friday 15th of November in MAL B35 (room 35 on the basement level of the main Birkbeck building on Malet Street). Tickets are free, and current students and alumni are welcome!
