To honour the late Diane Keaton, join the Birkbeck Film Society as we screen her Oscar winning performance in 1977's Annie Hall. Winner of 4 Academy Awards and often heralded as one of the best films ever made (AFI's 100 Greatest Films in America Cinema, 2022 Sight and Sound List), Annie Hall follows the satirical exploration of a man (Woody Allen) re-evaluating why his relationship with the titular character (played by Keaton) was a failed one. The role of Annie was famously written by Allen for Keaton and Keaton herself has stated on numerous occasions that Annie Hall is her favourite role and that the film means everything to her. Making it the perfect film to show in her honour.
Our screening of Annie Hall will begin just after 2pm on Sunday the 9th of November in Room B35 (Room 35 on the basement level) of the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street. Tickets are free and both current students and alumni are welcome!
