Are you in the mood for a hybrid piece of filmmaking? Then join the Birkbeck Film Society as we screen Abbas Kiarostami's Close-Up (1990) on the 19th of October to mark the centenary of the founding of the first British film society.
Based on a true story, Close-Up follows the story of a man, Hossein Sabzian, who impersonates the filmmaker Mohsen Makhmalbaf to con a family into believing they will star in his film.
This screening of Close-Up will begin just after 4pm on Sunday 19th October in Room TBA in the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street. Tickets are free and both currrent students and alumni are welcome.
