Are you counting down the days until your new modules start? Do you find new beginnings to be scary? Regardless of what your answers to either question are, the Birkbeck Film Society has a can't miss classic that we know will be sure to entertain. Following on from our screening of Cassavetes's Faces (1968) on the 26th of September, we will be screening his Broadway set classic Opening Night (1977) on our very first screening of the academic year. Starring his wife Gena Rowlands in one of her most revered performances, Cassavetes's psychological drama follows the twist and turns amidst the build-up to the opening of a much hyped Broadway play and the unravelling of the actress at the centre of it.
Our screening of this film will begin at 6.30pm in the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street! Tickets are free, and current students and alumni are welcome!
