Fancy a venture into German New Wave Cinema? Then join the Birkbeck Film Society on the 21st of November as we screen Rainer Werner Fassbinder's The Bitter Tears of Petra Von Kant (1972). Featuring an all female cast, the film follows the love triangle a fashion designer falls into with two other women in her trendy flat. Often heralded as Fassbinder's best film, it was a popular choice in our Welcome Fair poll this year coming at a close runner-up to our poll winner Trainspotting (which we screened at the start of the academic year).
This screening will start just after 6.30pm on Friday the 21st November 2025 in MAL B35 (Room 35 on the basemenet level of the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street). Tickets are free and both current students and alumni are welcome.
