After four rounds of voting and almost 100 votes cast, the Birkbeck Film Society is delighted to invite you to a screening of Trainspotting to celebrate Birkbeck Welcome Week. Directed by Danny Boyle and starring Ewan McGregor (in his second collaboration with Boyle after 1994's Shallow Grave), Trainspotting came to define a generation upon its release in 1996 with its Britpop soundtrack, breathless imagery and story following a gang of 20 something misfits on the Edinburgh narcotics scene. It made household names of its cast, brought Irvine Welsh's novel to a new audience and innovated the way people chose life.
This screening of Trainspotting will start just after 6.30pm in Room B35 (Room 35 on the Basement level) of the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street. Tickets are free and both current students and alumni are welcome!
