Want to influence what your Students’ Union (SU) does and help us feed back to the University about your experiences? Our upcoming General Meeting (GM) is one of the most important ways you can do that.
This is your opportunity to:
· Hear directly from your elected Officers about what they’ve achieved this year and ask questions
· Help explore key issues facing students that will shape priorities for the future and be fed back to the University
· Put forward and vote on motions of themes that matter to you.
Students’ Unions are student led charities, and General Meetings are a core part of how we stay democratic, transparent, and accountable to students. Whether you’re deeply involved or just curious, you’re very welcome to attend. Snacks provided! Everyone who attends will be able to choose between an iced-matcha/iced-coffee token from the cafe or a drink token for the George Bar!
The meeting will take place in the Owlery in 43 Gordon Square (Birkbeck School of Arts, Culture and Communication). Book your free ticket to sign up now!
Students can submit motions to be debated at the GM and must first speak to a member of SU staff before formally submitting a motion.
Between the 11th and 15th of May we’ll be running staff drop-in sessions to support you to:
· Turn an idea into a strong motion
· Understand how the process works
· Get feedback before submission
If you’d like to submit a motion, please fill out this form to register to attend a drop in with the member of the team to discuss your idea.
