On Saturday the 29th of November the Birkbeck Film Society invite you to watch two different films focused on characters with a means to an end and a desire to accomplish them at any cost.
The first film from the double-bill will be Pietro Germi's Divorce Italian Style (1961). An Italian comedy following a man who decides to escape his loveless marriage, but has to do so through unconventional methods as divorce is illegal in Italy.
Then after a short break we will screen Gus Van Sant's To Die For (1995). A film following an aspiring television personality (Nicole Kidman) who would do anything to be famous.
Our screening of Divorce Italian Style will take place shortly after 12pm and our screening of To Die For will take place shortly after 2.30pm on Saturday the 29th of November in MAL B35 (Room 35 on the basement level of the Birkbeck Main Building on Malet Street). Tickets are free and both current students and alumni are welcome. See you there!
